What's the story behind Thor? We were the first .NET extension for Cloud Foundry and are now the leading solution for .NET and SQL Server support. We didn't want to stop with Iron Foundry and we see additional opportunities to contribute open source tools to the community. Enter the Thor project. We saw a gap in management tooling for Cloud Foundry environments and are building a rich, full-featured UI client for both OSX and Windows. The source code is on Github and we'd love your see your contributions!
We've released the code for Thor and Thor.NET under the Apache 2.0 license. Source code is available on Github (Thor / Thor.NET) and installers are available via the download page. Check out the tools and get involved in our discussion as well.
We've added some new abilities in addition to those you might find in Cloud Foundry VMC or the Eclipse or Visual Studio Plugins. This new feature is a deployment feature which tracks an application and the deployments to the clouds that it is deployed on. So if you deploy your "Application That Does Lots of Awesome Things" to api.ironfoundry.me and then to api.someplace.com and api.overtherecloud.com then you'll be able to view all of those deployments under the application, and literally click once to deploy the application back to all of those locations at one time.
We're staunch supporters of open source software and like to contribute to the community. We've benefited greatly from the shared knowledge and innovation inherent in the open source community. In addition to that, we're big fans of PaaS and are always working to make the technology better and easier for everyone to use. Thor and Thor.NET is another step in that direction to making PaaS more usable.
The Thor and Thor.NET Application will work for the entire Cloud Foundry Ecosystem. So if there are hooks to support Cloud Foundry this will allow you to add, manage and view your cloud targets, applications and services. What that means simply, is that it will work against any Cloud Foundry based system by any provider anywhere.

If you're interested in working with the code yourself contact us at: http://ironfoundry.com/thor We're currently working to make sure any shared libraries are completely open source, we have appropriate credit and license requirements of Apache & other licenses met before we release the product.
The code base, albeit tested and put through some usage by the team building the tools, will not have been put through a full quality and testing cycle. We intend to provide it completely open source and work with the community to work out any issues that come up. We'll then move toward a v1 release with the community.
Yes. We're currently working on a Windows 8 and OS-X Version of the Applications. Both will be oriented toward the respective OS to provide true native OS performance and usability.
The full product (i.e. an installable product) will be available September 17th for OS-X and Windows 8.
Possibly. Want one? Let us know! Currently we wanted to focus on the place you'd have your applications you'd deploy, which would be your local native machine. The future is wide open!
At this time there is not. We intend to get much more involved with the community, determine what are absolutely necessary features and get those features solidly built and tested by and for the community before we declare a v1. But rest assured, we'll be pushing forward after September 17th open source release of the alpha to get to the v1 release.
